Smoking Exhaust V70-XC70 1999

Recently, January, I received a notice in the mail from a dealer, I had just purchased some parts, saying that the programing of the cars computer might be corrupted. Call make an appointment for that Saturday and take "It" in. (I use "It" because the car has an ego and an id and I'm not always sure which I'm dealing with). There we are in and out in 45 minutes and there's NO charge, felt like I won the lotto.

Drum roll...

Come Monday morning I'm off to work, I always let the engine warm up, get the juices flowing that sort of thing. As I pull out I notice white "condensate" smoke out the back and it doesn't really stop even at running temperature. I figure it's due to temperature inversion, sun spots what ever. Only stops when the temp is above 60'. Also have really noticed that the MPG has dropped from 18+ local to 13.9 according to the Brain, it also Say's We don't go over 20mph. Not likely in a town where most of the streets are 25 and that's a strain. I use a national brand of gas, always have, use injector cleaner every 3/4 tanks and always check the oil for levels. What's also troublesome is I've gone through 2 qts. of oil since they touched the car and that NEVER happened in over 142K.

Have these guy's fixed something that wasn't broken or broken something that didn't need fixing and is there a way to determine what, when and how. What codes/devices should/can be checked? I've done a little pricing and sensors etc are too $$$ to go in blind.

Thanks in advance,
Blue Skies/Smooth Roads.

Sounds like your dealer wants repeat business. :(

Check EVERYyhing in the engine bay. Look for disconnected vacuum lines and unplug/replug any electrical connections around the throttle body(not while the engine is running). I would check the vacuum line that runs to the relay at the radiator first.
Come to think of it, any electrical connectors that are loose should trigger a code.
Is your dash temp gauge normal or low?
I cannot figure out the oil loss...
