850 Seat Control By-pass 850 1994

I recently got my 850 Turbo back from having a new transmission put in (ouch).

I was moving the seat back and either caught the cable or the motor died at the same time. Is there a way to manually by pass the controls? I don't have time to look into it until the weekend and have a lot of driving before then.

Any/all help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jon

Sorry, there is no manual override. Check the wires underneath the seat, just to make sure they are still connected. Also check the fuse. That is if none of the power switches work.
If it is the seat back only, then the cable came loose (common). That can be temporarily fixed by cutting the hog clips on the rear, bottom of the seatback, and reaching your hand up and finding the cable on the left hand side and pulling it down while pushing the adjustment switch. That assumes that you hear the motor running when you push the switch, but nothing is happening.

    Does that make sense?

      Klausc,

Thanks for the information. It is the full seat. I have already done the back seat cable several months ago :>.

I checked the fuse, and it seems fine. Possibly a wire got pulled when adjusting the seat. Is there a pin/cable configuration diagram out there? With that and a little electrical work, I could fix it to the point of working and then replace over the weekend.

      Thanks again!

      Jon

Check the trouble codes in slot B-6 for power seats.

On 850, check circuit breakers No. 39 and 40, located in
engine compartment fuse box. Check all connectors for good terminal
contact. Check voltage supply and ground wires for continuity.

The wires under the seat have normal plastic disconnects, make sure they are tight.
