'Emissions system service required' light V70-XC70 2000

Fellow bricksters

Our 2000 V70 non-turbo has had in the last couple of days the message "emmisions system service required" come on along with the amber engine light illuminating. The car is operating just fine and does not seemed to be effected at this point in time.

Is this a sign that the Electronic throttle module is on the way out. The car is due to be serviced next week (50,000 miles) so the milage is not high and gets looks after very well.

Any help appreciated.......

Nothing to do with the ETM. Everything to do with the 50K service.
