What year S/V 70 should I look for? S70

Lately, my wife has been wanting to get a newer car and upgrade from her 1990 740 wagon. She has expressed interest in the S70 or an 850 sedan. What do I need to look out for in the early production 70 series (98'-00')?

Would I be better off looking at the 95'-97' 850's? Our budget is around $6000 for a car with ~100,000 miles.

Anyhelp is appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

IMO, S70's are quite the deal these days, you can find them pretty cheap (cheaper than wagons anyway), the interior is "newer looking" than the 850, and they just look nice. Have it inspected thoroughly before buying it and you'll be set. The main things to look for will be the AC working, timing belt done at the regular intervals, and now that Volvo is replacing the ETM for free, any year up to 2000 is just fine.

Love my '98 S-70 T-5. Late 850's are good too, even have a '94 which has been quite good. They are different from the RWD Volvo's-----
