enabling daytime running lights 850

gentlemen of the brickboard. i have just imported a beautiful 855R from the states into canada. i need to have fulltime daylight running lights to pass the import test and register it here. it seems quite simple, something to do with the screw on the headlight switch? if anyone knows how to do this please can you let me know? the bureaucrats are driving me crazy. warren

Small screw in the face of the switch, lower right corner.
    11 o'clock = normal function,off/park/on.
    12 o'clock = drl/park/on.
    1 o'clock = drl/drl/on.

Always remember to tell us what model year -- it might be different (software vs. mechanical) .... 850

This isn't only concerning your question, but is for many who forget to indicate model year.

But for your DRL question, in some models in some years, the control of DRLs is mechanical (electrical), a matter of the hidden control (screw, as you noted) in the light switch. But in other models and/or years, it might be software controlled, requiring reprogramming by the dealer.

Always be sure to use the pull-down (at the top of the message, where it says "ALL" right next to the model, "850" in this case) to indicate the year.

    Good luck.
