I've got a 100K miles on my V70 and want to replace the fuel filter. I've never seen anywhere on the car. I wonder where it is and what steps I need to take to replace it? Should I have an empty gas tank when doing so?

You will find it just a bit to the right of the center of the car, above the rear differential. Mounted horizantally, secured to the subframe with a metal clamp.
