drive + play installation issues 850 1995

Hi, I am trying to install an iPod controller unit into my car but am having trouble finding a place where I can tap directly into +12v.

1. Is there an easily accessible +12v source under the dash board near the combined instrument?

2. Alternatively there is some sort of corrugated plastic umbilical that runs through the firewall which terminates in black plastic nipples of differing length. The forward umbilical end is located just in front of the brake booster; the rear umbilical end is located on the firewall in the passenger compartment just in front of the relay panel. Can I snake a wire from the battery through this umbilical to my iPod controller under the dash?

Which would you recommend? Any other alternatives? Thanks for the help!

also, leave all the alpine radio stuff alone and install a 12" sub in the truck facing out through the pass through and you will ROCK
