can't find a remote, gas lid locked ,2001 V70 V70-XC70

gas lid was last locked with the remote...remote has been misplaced. key in door will open all the doors, but the gas lid won't spring. I know it's just a $30 plastic part I'll have to break, but I'd rather not before I run out of gas....any ideas? thanks

Get in the car lock it and then unlock from the driver's seat. It should open. That is how I do mine all the time.

Isn't there a gas lid release button on your driver's door? Maybe some cars were not equipped with it.

Look inside the right rear tail lamp assembly cover, there should be a little metal wire doo-hickey that is attached to the lock motor and will allow you to manually open it.

I agree with mark.. either your release unit is defective or one of the wires have come loose?

But it has nothing to do with your FOB. Your keys should disengage all the locks on the car including the trunk and the gas filler unit.
