99 V-70 Recall V70-XC70 1999

Hello Bricksters,

I received a recall notice in the mail last week requesting that I make an appointment with Volvo to have the currrent software upgrade installed.

It says, "..., a combination of throttle postitioning sensor irregularities, a dirty trottle housing, and/or inefficient software calibration may cause the onset of limp home modes without warning".

My understanding of this issue was that solely, the ETM was prone to failure. Can anyone explain what this software upgrade is supposed to do?

Thanks
