Dash indicator lights coming on V70-XC70

For the past month or so, various lights on the left side of my dash have been coming on and then going right off. They blink so fast that usually I can only see them out of the corner of my eye. I determined that one was the bulb-out indicator and the other must have been the washer fluid. Took the car in for service and they replaced a license plate bulb and I filled my washer well (but it actually was full). Even after service, I can still see the orange indicators flash quickly. I can't figure out what is going on? Could I have a short or could something else be wrong? The car had major service done last week. Please help!

When do these lights come on? When you push on the brake? Normal driving? Are the headlights on? Just the DRLs? Did you check which warning lights they are when you turn the key to pos II?
If it is in fact the brake lights, then I would pull the bulbs and clean the bulb base and the corresponding bulb holder to remove any corrosion.

It does seem that the lights come on when I step on the brakes (but not every time I step on the brakes) or in wet conditions. But again, it happens so fast. Happens with both DRLs and headlights. I have pulled the manual out to check out which bulbs they could be and really thought it was the bulb out and washer indicators. They are orange lights and I am also terrified that it might be the ETS light, but my ETS was replaced in February at 105K. The car is a 2000 V70 XC. Maybe it is just a short???

My 164 also has the same problem, or did. Some times when the brake is applied, the warning light comes on. I cleaned the contacts and the problem went away.
The bulb out indicator works by measuring the difference in current draw from one side of the car compared to the other side. Any imbalance will trigger the light. In your case, a light on one side comes on a fraction of a second before the other side - or the bulbs are different manufactures. The lights work, but need attention.
