reverse/back up light 850

Hi,
I noticed that my reverse/back up light does not work. Already checked the fuse and bulb, but to no avail. What could the problem be?

thanks,

    Hey there,

I've had this same problem with my 95 850, the light came on and off with no apparent pattern. It turned out to be the PNP switch in the engine compartment (Park-Neutral Position I think it stands for) and after that part was replaced the lights worked perfectly. Also it had a strange habit of not shifting out of 1st gear early on cold mornings, and the PNP replacement fixed that too. If you have both of those problems, I'd say its a good possibility.

In talk with a Certified Volvo Mech, he said there is an adjustment/switch
from the top side - just to the left and below the battery holder. I have
the same problem and haven't tackled it yet. When you move the tranny
selector you will see the angle changes. Apparently we can loosen a bolt
or two and then try to adjust it so lights come on. I need a diagram, so
I don't mess this up. When you disconnect a couple of large air inlets you
    can see it.
