Does anyone know if it's safe to remove the plastic handle above the driver's door? There are two bolts...do they also support anything related to the side airbag? I am tall and about once a month i whack my forehead on the handle while using my sideview mirror or looking at a passing MG-TD.

    I thought I was the only one around here with out headroom. Take the handle off and store it some where, with the screws, so you can put it back on for resale.
    No problem with airbags, etc.

      What Klaus is saying is true. Actually, Volvo makes a sunglass holder that goes in that location. Originally for the newer S/V40/50 series, they also fit V70's so there's no issue in taking the handle off.
