Not to waste too much space here, but is there a breakdown list of the various Volvo engines and varients? I know the B-18 and B20 varients, know B21 as a basic engine, but not it's varients, don't know the difference between a b23 and a B230, which have DOHC's etc.

There's got to be a list somewhere, can anyone direct me to it?

You need to post this question to the RWD section of the board. Those are all engines for the 140-240-740.

Yes, that's true, but am also interested in knowing all the varients of the FWD/AWD cars, up to the mid 90's

Volvo has a pocket data booklet for sale which covers all models through 1998. for about $20. Call their 1-800 number.
