Headliner Woes 850

The headliner on my 850 wagon is sagging badly. I have thought about replacing it but it's in great shape, just sagging. Does anyone have a remedy (injecting glue, etc.)? Any help apreciated!

My headliner went last year. I tried injecting with glue etc. Found the only cure was to have it replaced. Shop around there may be some small MA & PA place to do it for you. It cost me $150 in LA ( Louisiana ).

I am so disappointed to read about this. I had hoped that this was only a 740/760 problem. The original headliners in those cars were almost all defective, and would start to drop when they were about 10 or 11 years old.

Headliner issues in the newer Volvo's is pretty rare. I hardly read about it at all and frequent 5 different Volvo message boards.

By newer, do you include the 850? Yes - it *would* be discouraging to think this will happen to our cars - the door panel situation is bad enough but they don't land on your head...

I also had the 1987 740 with thumb tacked headliner, i always said when the headliner in my 850 drops its time to trade in. Kelly
