Volvo fault codes 850 1994

I have two persistent fault codes, 535 and 413
413 is EGR temp sensor missing or faulty
535 is power stage in ingnition control module
Or something like that.
Neither of these make any sense to me and I cant find info on how to fix them.
Any help would be appreciated

Also I know it has been discussd here before but I cant find it;
Where can I get a volvo scan tool that costs more than my car is worth.
I have an 850 wagon and a 1998 V70. It would be nice to have something that works for both.

    Try cleaning the electrical plugs to the temp sensor and the EGR, first. Especially at the EGR.
    If you have a turbo, you might have a problem with the turbo control valve rather than the ICM. I would also try cleaning all of the contacts on the ICM computer also.
    As for getting OBDII software, concentrate only on the 1998. The generic code readers only work for the engine and tranny and will not help you with Volvo specific codes that you get from the 2 diagnostic boxes in the 1994. A laptop with software is much better than a hand held device.

    IPD sells one, www.ipdusa.com

    or I think www.carmd.com has one as well, that you can use with a laptop.
