Indicator lights all on after drive through puddle 850 1995

OK, so this is a repeat of a post I did a year ago, and another person reported a few months ago. I couldn't find either post using Search, so I thought I would post again. Never saw a definitive cause.

We had a LOT of rain here a few days ago. I set out on a 50 mile trip, and in the first mile I went through a good sized puddle with the left tire at 35 mph. ALL the indicator lights came on but the engine kept running fine. The lights stayed on for about two seconds. Rest of the trip went fine.

A year ago it was the same but different. LOTS of rain, and went through a puddle with the right wheel at about 30mph. All lights on, engine kept running (but I shut it off thinking it had stopped).

So, unless someone knows what this is, don't have a coronary if it happens to you! Don '95 854T 165k

Have seen this posted before and most replys point to a wet slipping accessory belt. Yours may be glazed and a new one may solve the problem. Don't skimp on cost here. Get the best you can find. There is an access panel in the passenger side wheel well that may be missing allowing water to splash up into the engine compartment. Also is the plastic piece that goes across the engine compartment under the front bumper missing???

Hmm - yes, I do recall the suggestion of the belt, and you know, a noise similar to such a condition has been heard on cool two mornings (may be happening more than I know) in a year and a half. Maybe the two are related. I do have the plastic piece you mention - just had it off to do my fenders but it is where it belongs. Thanks for the tip - I'll go for a belt.
