In the past I have seen posts adressing this issue. I was going to try to unlock it today but decided to wait and see if anyone had any suggestions. It's my understanding there is no way around it but to break it open, I would like to know if this is true before I tear into it. Thanks ahead.

Rancher Rick is right, easy to do. Just make sure you cover the vinyl with tape so it won't get scratched by the hacksaw blade. Work slowly.

You will have to buy another metal U to fix the glove box.

Hi,
Lots of info here on the procedure starting out with hacksaw blade & taping around the cut area, etc.
It`s a piece of cake, I did the surgery last year on my wife`s 850 & it worked out fine.
