resetting temp/time /etc on wife`s 850 850 1995

Hi,
The last time my wife`s wagon was in the shop the battery was disconnected & now we can`t seem to reset temp, etc. I`ve followed instructions as outlined in the owner`s manual but no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Rich

It is never fun using 2 ballpoint pens to change the clock/temp setting. Make sure that the black points you push are not stuck in before you push on them.
Can you even change the time of day? Or is it just the F to C and 24hour switch that is giving you problems?

The black pins only make contact on the back side by pushing a copper strip against another copper strip. The chances that the 2 copper strips not contacting are slim to none, unless you push so hard that the pin goes through the strip.
Make sure the pins are moving in and out, then try a 1 penny nail to gently push one of the pins down and see if that changes the hour or minutes. If not, I know of no easy solution - you gotta pull the entire panel and play with it.
I assume the clock and temp are displaying. You could check the black boxes for a code, but those usually refer to missing signals from various sensors.
