leather / pleather conditioning 850

I recently applied lexol conditioner to the seats in my 850. They appear to be a patchwork of leather and vinyl or "pleather." Does anyone know which parts are real leather, and will applying an oil based conditioner to the vinyl parts break them down?

Thanks.

    Paul,

A product specified for vinyl is usually a better choice than a leather conditioner since the latter can sometimes leave the surface tacky.

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on the vinyl and it seems to do the trick.

There are many other good products and each person has his or her favorite.

Only the top sides are leather - seating surface - where ever clothing can touch while sitting in a seat. All the rest is vinyl.
Lexol will not harm vinyl, an oil based synthetic meant to simulate leather. If anything, it will make it softer and more plyable. Applying Lexol is needed to keep the seats from cracking and the seams from drying out. Keep on doing what you do.
