window molding 850

how hard would it be to change the window moulding. Does the door need to come completely off. Any secrets to be aware of.

Do you mean just the bottom trim on the outside of the window? Door stays on. The clips that hold that piece of trim on have a metal barb which should not be reused. Just roll the window down.

Thanks Klaus.

How would the molding come off, the back window does not go all the way down, it goes down 1/2 way. Does the molding just pull off (like the roof strips)

I will look in the haynes manual to see if they can give a description of the process.

The dealer price is around $40. I believe it just "rips" off, and the new one is just pressed on. If you are unsure, stop by a dealer and ask them if they would install it. It shouldn't cost much, if any. Unless you yelled at them the last time you were there...
