Engine won't start 850

My 94 850 won't get started. It did get cracking but the engine wouldn't start. I had my friend using wire to jump the fuse box from #2 fuel pump and #13 hazard/headlite to see if any noise from the fuel pump. It did have small sound so he said the fuel pump should be fine. Then I don't know anything else to look for it after this. Anyone have any input for this? Thank you

    Engine won't start 850

Mine ('95 850@150k) would not start--a leakdown showed that it had no compression due to exhaust valves. While my mechanic wanted to do a valve job, advice here from Mr Rule 308 showed me that cranking the hell out of it would get it to start and then a high rev run would clean up the valve stems. All has been well since! Get a strong source of juice and crank it for 3 mins if nec!!

have you checked the codes?? Take a look at your fuel pump relay, under the hood by the firewall, drivers side, lift off the plastic cover to find it. Sometimes pullling it out and putting it back in will clean the contacts, otherwise order a new one. good luck

On the 850 do you pull the code the same manner as that on the 940? Also, where is the cam sensor and where do you pull the connector to check resistance and what is the value?

Camshaft Position sensor is at the back of the engine, about the same height as the distributor cap. Held by 2 torx bolts. Resistance is checked between terminal 1 and ground and should be 0 ohms.
