On the gamble that an ebay remote (same part no, FCC no.) at less that $20 would be able to replace our lost second fob without the factory replacement of $hundreds, can I program this "new" remote or do I need dealer intervention. I remember being able to program earlier remotes with similar moves used to reset the service light.

    From 1998 on up the programming of remote FOB's became dealer only. Sorry but you have to go to the dealer, and on a '03, they may tell you that the one you bought from eBay won't work, but I'm not for sure on that.
