removing the alternator help! 850 1994

I'm trying to remove the alternator in my 1994 850 turbo. I can't seem to get to the lower rear mounting bolt. How do I get there? Any help will be much appreciated!

Eric

There's an access panel inside the passenger side wheelwell that may give you some help. I believe it's held in place by a couple of clips or screws.

It's not easy. That said I always take way too many bolts off. You need to get a box wrench on the nut as it will just spin as it is probably doing on you.

I did this on my S70 and it took about 3 hours to do. Start with removal of the Serpentine belt and start at the top of the stack (power steering pump) and work down. Pick up a copy of the Haynes service manual and review that before you start. Don't attempt to start the engine until you have all the electrical connections to the alternator completed else you can cause some electrical damage.
