Fuel Pump Relay 850 1994

I've had intermittent starting problems for more than a year but lately it has gotten worse. The OBD codes are reading Camshaft position sensor but I've replaced that and am still getting the no start problem. I thought I zeroed in on the problem when I replaced the fuel pump relay located under the radiator shroud since it started consistently if I detatched it, then reattached it. I installed a new fuel pump relay but the problem persists. Any suggestion?
Thanks,
Ed

Ed,
What you replaced was the Main Fuel Relay, not the Fuel Pump Relay. The Fuel Pump Relay is under the Fuse Panel Cover [#103, some are red, some green].

Not saying that's going to cure your problem as there isn't enough info in the original post, just thought you'd want to know.

That's for the clarification. Any idea of the symptoms if the fuel pump relay is not functioning properly? Would it work intermittently, causing no starting/stalling? Is there any way it could be related to a Camshaft Position Sensor OBD code?

> Would it work intermittantly ?
YES

> causing no start/stalling ?
YES

> related to CPS code ?
YES [it needs to get a signal from it [engine spinning/running READY, engine not spinning NOT READY] but you stated you already replace it].

Any more info ? [i.e. recent work performed, other symptoms, time
lapse of last tune-up, TB & IAC clean, mileage on car, last vacuum line/elbow inspection, air filter type, etc]. Could be a number of things Ed but too early to speculate.

Not that it applies here [yet], but I will say that you will find that FP relay [as well as the regulator, ignition switch, window guide, air damper lever, PNP switch, coolant level sensor, etc etc] has had a well documented history of failing needing replacement...but please don't let that be the reason for shotgunning parts at it as all it does is drain your wallet unecessarily.
