What's the deal with the trunk light. I only see it come on for a brief second and then nada. Even when I turn the switch manually there is nothing. However if I open it slowly and peek it comes on for a brief second.

Check that both contacts to the bulb are shiney and tight. The manual switch should work. Also check the voltage when the lid is up, you may have a short in the wiring.
