ABS controller part number different on new part 850 1996

I bought an ABS controller from eEuroparts.com, which isn't open weekends, and I find the new part has some different numbers than the old part. Both are Ate parts, both with TRACS, so that's not the issue. The old one has a number "9140774" on it at the left above the line, "Control Unit ABS/TRACS." The new one has the number "9162675" in the same place above the line, "Control Unit TRACS 2WD/4WD." Is the difference because of the 2WD/4WD? Should I not drive the car until I get this resolved?

    The numbers are different and the application is slightly different.
    9140774 is 96 ABS/TRACS
    9162675 is 97-98 ABS/TRACS 2/4WD
    both will work on your car.
    Did you have to return the old one?

    Both of those numbers and 6 others all change up to a 8602266, which is listed as ABS control unit with TRACS. Answer your question?

      Thanks, yes. I'm not sure whether it's a comfort or what that Volvo hasn't changed its practice of using different numbers for parts over time.

        They're probably not the same parts. I wouldn't be surprised if Volvo made some changes (ideally improvements) to the parts over time, thus the different part numbers. Better that you should be able to tell something has changed.
