Installing a V70 CD Changer in the Back/Trunk? V70-XC70

Hi, I have a question regarding a 1999 V70 wagon. Can I install the Volvo OEM 6 disc trunk CD changer (Part No. 3533937) in the V70? I know this CD Changer was offered as an option on the 850, but just want to confirm that it is also compatible with the V70. Also, are there pre-drilled mounting holes for this CD changer somewhere in the back/trunk? I haven't been able to find any thus far...

Best,

Ron

Yes, it will work...basically the same din jack in the rear of our stereo's which are all the same until you get to '01 and then the units become HU instead of SC and are different. However, why go to all the expense and trouble of a CD changer when it is so easy to install an iPod directly to the stereo? I have one installed...keep it in the glove box and have tons more tunes right at my finger tips...controlled by my stereo buttons. Here's a discussion on it: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2510 I installed the USA Spec device and it works great!

I have to agree, I just bought a 98 V70 and was thinking about taking the CD changer out of my '89 240 Wagon because the V70 doesn't have a CD player. However, I bought an ipod recently and have purchased a belkin transmitter that sits nicely in the cigarette lighter socket, the ipod is consatntly charged and is right at hand.......much better tahn a cd cahnger and more songs!

Thanks for the reply; the reason I got the CD changer was because I still (and am admittedly one of the few) that own and purchase CDs (I'm a bit of an audiophile). I gotta admit for convenience, though, the mp3 player setup must make things a LOT easier.
