Auto selector release button V70-XC70 1999

My release button is crumbling away and now sticks in preventing key removal. Considerable wiggling (technical term) is needed to free defective button. How straightforward is the replacement of the release button on the auto selector.

I am afraid that the button is not replaceable by itself. You will need to replace the entire shift lever. Check at a junk yard before you look at the prices for a new one.

Ours was sticking as well, until I gave it a shot of silicon spray.

I'm past the silicon spray stage unfortunately - bits of the button are falling off at the hinge end.

The button is available by itself. V70-XC70 1999

John,

It's $5.46 plus S&H from Volvo of Richardson (Texas, USA).

Go to: www.myswedishparts.com and search for "Collision Parts" / "Console, front."

If you're in the UK you can probably get it cheaper and faster from the local Volvo dealer.

Bryan
