anyone know where the engine number is? Not the model, but that actual number uniquely identifying my engine.

I am ordering parts for the timing belt on my 98 S70 N.A. and based on FCP Groton's site, they say I have to make sure for the tensioner and the idler pulleys.

The engine number is best located at the dealership - most will give it to you over the phone with a VIN number.

Mine is on the timing belt cover. I think it was labelled "serial no.".

Right...but if that sticker is missing, Klaus speaks the truth.

The engine # is on the engine block, raised numbers/letters and small, hard to see.

If you still can't find it, call your dealer with your VIN#. He should be able to give you the correct number unless your car has had an engine swap.
