This is my first post. I have had some trouble now, for the past few week getting my S80t to get into gear. the problem this mornig was that it would not pull into R and I think I broke it. Now it wiggles around inside and doesnt seem to ingage anything. I would like to know if there is a well known fix or is it a dealer only issue. I hate to take it to the dealer if it can be done at home. thank you in advance for any help. by the way my car is stuck in a incline driveway.

You may have just bent the linkage and the seat that the handle fits into. Hopefully that is all. But I am unable to do that repair at home, so a friendly independent Volvo place is your best bet. Dealers tend to replace too many parts.
You need to get into the habit of setting your handbrake before putting it in Park. I park in a flat garage and always select N and let my foot off the brake before engaging P, just so there is no strain in the parking pin.
