850 black trim

So I know I've seen this n countless 850's, so I know there mut be a fix. I'm looking into a 97 80. Everything is AWESOME on the car except the black trim that runs along the rain chute starting from the botom corner of the windshield. The paint is pretty well clean gone on the trim, and I'm wondering if it is possible to replace that paint with some aftermarket stuff. I probably won't buy it if I can't fix that, as I am a freak when it comes to the perfect car. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it, please let me know what you did. Thanks

On our old 850, I took them off (they snap off but be careful because they are aluminum and will bend), sand blasted them and spray painted them. They looked great until we sold the car.

This can be a very easy fix. The trim strips are just sdnapped in to fitting along teh windshield and roof. Best bet is to buy a set of S or V 70 trim strips, depending on wagon or sedan, and just snap them into position. the coating on the x70's seems much more durable, and the 70's also have a neat water diverter beside the windshield that is about $50. as a separate aftermarket fix on the 850. I got a set of V70 strips for opne of our 855's from hank Bates on this board, and the fix was less than $75 and 20 minutes. Others have just pulled the trim off, and repainted it with various productsd. Again, easy and quick, but the x70 trim is the real answer.
