Fellow Brickboarders,

A warning light has come on our 2001 V70 and it is saying "SRS-Airbag service urgent". It is coming on every time and not disappearing. The car is in for a 75,000 kilometre service in the next 48 hours so I will get them to check this, however will it be safe to drive whilst this is on or is this a precuationary warning light only.

Next question, has anyone's V70/S60 ever experienced this warning light and how much and cause was it to fix.

    YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED WITH A SCAN TOOL TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM....IT'S USUALLY THE SRS COMPUTER THAT IS BAD....

    Avoid any frontal collisions, your air bags may not deploy. That is what the message is telling you. Only a Volvo scan tool can diagnose this message.

    The most common reason for the SRS light to turn on, is disconnecting the air bag or SIPS electrical connector with the battery connected. If this is not your case, then there is a fault in the system.

    The only way to read and clear the codes is with the volvo scan tool, so a trip to the dealer is required.

      The SRS turned on on my 1994 940, it came on after i replaced the battery, anyway to reset it?

        Check the codes in slot B5 and see if you can 1-1-1 the code.
