OBD 'not ready' S70 1998

My S70 has been rejected 3 times by emissions for the following reason:
"OBD NOT READY".

The inspector told me that my the OBD must have been reset by my mechanic which has caused the emission systems to have a "not ready" status. He told me to drive it for 50 miles and then come back for a re-test. I followed his instructions but failed again. After that test, I drove 90 more miles and was rejected again by emissions for the same reason.

The inspector said that for certain emission systems, the status returns to "ready" only after driving the vehicle a specific way, and that this specific "drive cycle" is determined by the manufacturer. Also, the inspector said that they have had this problem before with Volvos and have not been able to get an answer from Volvo.

I would greatly appreciate it someone can tell me what the specific drive cycle is for this car, or what I should do to prepare the car for a re-test.

    OBD 'not ready' S70 1998

I, too, had this issue with an inspection station (a gas station) last year. I failed emissions test because OBD was not ready. The guy told me that a technician could have reset the system within the week or so. I told him that the car hasn't been to a shop nor has it been touched by a mechanic for almost two months. He suggested that I drive the car for about a week and have it inspected again. The other thing the inspection guy said was that it would be better to have the problem resolved by one of their guys (at the gas station) because a different tech might say that everything is fine. Hmm.

I went to a Volvo tech and explained exactly what the inspection station said and the tech just said to drive the car for at least half an hour and then have the car inspected. Well I decided to do that after a couple of days and brought the car back to the inspection station. Still the readout was 'OBD not ready'. The inspector said I should really come back in a week. I came back in a week and the inspection station finally gave me a passed sticker.

I haven't seen a post about this on the Brickboard (until now) nor heard about it from other Volvo owners. That was the last time I went back to this station.

Drive Cycle Diagram is Here S70 1998

Here, I posted this in the photo section some time ago. It gets shrunk down some by brickboard. Hope it's large enough (you need to do 2 of these drive cycles):

I have had the same problem with my 96 850T. I had to take it to Volvo for the past 2 years to get it to pass NYS inspection. Will this drive cycle work for me?
