sparks @ plug/coils. fires then deteriorates and goes away within 30 seconds???? 850 1995

95 850 GLT Wagon with 382,000 miles on it just flat out died while driving on the highway. Had it towed 111 miles on a flat bed to the shop. Mechanic says that when they get it started it sparks at the plugs/coil and then the spark deteriorates over about a 30 second period, dissapears, and the car shuts off. No codes showing. Car has been a solid runner with mostly hwy miles. Any thoughts would be very appreciated as we really need our baby running and the mechanic is having a tough time on this one and he's never let us down on Volvos totalling over 300,000 miles that we've put on them! (the 95 mentioned here with 382k, a 96 850 GLT wagon with 179k, a 96 850 Turbo wagon 187k, an 82 240 wagon with 226k)

It almost sounds like heat or some thing in a component is changing over time.

I am no expert, but has a good ignition module been swapped in to see if that makes a difference? Same with the coil, has a good one been swapped in?

AC clutch runs contantly, engine dies within 30 seconds or so. Any help? 850 1995

Looks like the ac clutch is running constantly and may be causing the problem with the engine cutting out. Any thoughts?
