illumination of clock 850 1997

I recently purchased a 97 850 GLT.... a great car. The clock below the speedometer is not illuminated. The LCD image is visible in daylight, but at night, impossible to see. Is there a way to replace an illuminating light?

Yes, but it requires removing the instrument cluster. While it is out, I would suggest replacing all of the other bulbs as well. The large bulbs can be bought at any auto supply house or Home Depot, the smaller ones at radio shack - $1.50 for a package of 2(micro lights).

Read these two sites to figure out how to take the cluster out of the dash. The Mathews site has you remove the entire top of the dash, which is a pretty good idea,

IPD sells a light kit for the whole dash, with a DVD instructional aid. It makes sense to change them all at that time, as another one will probably burn out shortly after you put it together again.
