Engine does not crank, does not start. a year ago I replaced starter, now I replaced the battery and the neutral safety switch and still does not crank. Any sugestions? Thans for your help.

I suggest that you quit throwing parts at it and either diagnose it yourself or pay someone to do it for you. You need a schematic and you need to see if you are getting current to the little wire on the starter solenoid. If you are then it would appear that you have another faulty starter, if not then you need to go upstream and see where the open circuit is, the PNP switch is out of adjustment, the ignition contact plate is faulty? These are just some of the possiblities but you should really get a schematic and diagnose it correctly.

1984!, you win the prize for oldest 850 that's for sure. The schematic shows a green/red wire going from the ignition contact plate through alarm relay 2/28, through the gear position sensor where it changes to solid green and then on to terminal 50 on the starter. I would start all the way at the end of that circuit at the starter, have some one twist the key while you hold a test light to the green wire and see what it does and then chase it backwards from there. You can tap into the remote starter lead too, it is located with the data link connector under the hood. Hook in there and you won't have to have another person to twist the key for you. Good luck and let us know what you find, or don't find as it may be.

Mark, thanks so much. I found the problem on the alarm relay 2/28. It was not passing courrent through, I replaced and now is working great. Thank you again.
