Outer sanp ring pliers 850 1995

I read over on Volvospeed that one guy used a pair of "outer" snap ring pliers to remove the small clamp that holds the upper transmission fluid line hose in place wihtout breaking the clamp/bracket. Can anyone tell me if there is a specific size plier I should be buying?

I just have a set of Sears snap ring pliers that have interchangable ends for different snap ring applications. They worked great as I remember. If your're careful, needle nose will also work. You probably should have a spare clip (I didn't but I'm an idiot) on hand in case you break it. Go easy with it and you should be fine

If you break the clip as I did with no spare. put the two pieces together and put an appropriate size hose clamp around the whole mess. Just make sure the pieces are engaged and holding the hose on.

Groton has them for $4.50 just in case. They are $11 at the dealer, YIKES!
