Did you start your car for less than one minute and then shut it off? Some times this causes the lifters to move to an open state and an attempt to restart will not work because there is no compression.
Just crank the starter for 30 seconds at a time, assuming that your battery is up to the task. Do not give it gas, just let it crank.

What???

This is an DOHC engine. There are no lifters, just cam lobes.
The "no restart after short run" phenomenon is due to fuel flooding by the cold start enrichment algorythm.

More information needed:
Model year?, what type? (base, glt, T-5?)
How many miles?
Anything happen to it recently?
Strange sounds?

As much info as possible, or it is hard to help you.

But from the simple information you gave, I would suspect the oil return "O" ring in the bottom of the oil pan, but other issues can cause one to think what you think.
