    Forgive me, all, for "not being cool," but -

    *steps onto soap box*

    Carfax provides a service, albeit a nearly worthless service. If you wish to make use of this service, they deserve to be compensated for it, and you should pry open your wallet and shell out the $20 or so they're asking for a single report, or the $30 or so they're asking for a month's subscription.

    Besides - if the thought of spending a mere $20 on your automobile makes you uncomfortable, you definitely should not be driving a Volvo.
