When cruising (not necessarily using cruise control) with my AC on i notice that car shudders once every 30 seconds or so - then recovers. Turning AC off seems to stop this problem. The air remains cool at all times so i know compressor is functioning always - i keep it at coolest setting 100% of time.

I hope its got nothing to do with serpentine belt/tensioners/fuel line?

Nothing to do with belts. It's your compressor kicking in, it should cycle every 30 seconds or so. Mine does the same thing on my 850. We are going to visit an AC shop pretty soon...

Is there too much charge in the system? Has it been recharged, "topped up" recently? Seems to be in the compressor circuit.

I fear when i got my radiator swapped at a nearby 'euro' car place they disconnected hoses they needn't have .i.e a/c hoses included (not sure which ones). I remember cuz when i returned early to pick the car up the shop manager told me mechanic was re-filling the refridgerant ... not sure how he drained it and sustained it whilst swapping rad. Isn't the stuff supposed to vapourise immediately?
