Micro bulb question V70-XC70 1998

I got a bunch of micro bulbs from Radio Shack to replace the ones that are burned out. Very satisfying and fun to do.
But, I noticed that the S and E buttons on the center console are also out. Will I have to lift up the center console to get to them? Or can I just pop up the plastic around the shifter? I do not look forward to removeing the console just for 2 little switches.

    ummm....good question. Klaus, I would think you should try just pulling it up the easy way and if there's too much resistance or you can't get under there at all, then go for the more lengthy method...really, it's not too bad anyway. I've pulled mine up and out a few times now.
