Hi,
Im thinking about purchasing a 2003 S60 2.4T ASR. Test drove her yesterday and I fell in love when I opened her up on the highway. Now my question is, I keep hearing about S60 R owners. The dealer told me A stands for automatic, S stands for sunroof. Now where Im confused is the R part. Is my ASR the automatic version of an R? I guess im asking because when I looked for aftermarket parts from different vendors, some parts are for R-only, and some are for non-Rs only. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

The "R" (for "race" --OK they have a sense of humor at Volvo!) has "R" badges plastered all over the car - front, back, sides, wheels and instruments.

The motor is 2.5 liters and 300hp.

The car is AWD, and has blue instruments.

You wouldn't mistake one for a garden-variety Volvo, at least not if you drove the two.

I believe the SR is for Sun Roof...ASR isn't an R.
