Looking at 97 850 - question 850 1997

Greetings 850 Pros!

Quick leather question:

97 850 with gray leather. Body and interior basically good. Driver's seat has worn leather on door side of seat. No visible tears. Steering wheel leather also looks a little faded, but not as bad as seat. Question - Is there anything I can do to fix/improve the appearance of the leather?

Many thx,

Jim

    Jim,

Leatherique (www.leatherique.com) or Color Plus (www.colorplus.com) will give you all the information and products you need to restore and maintain the leather.

These products are more expensive that most, but the results are worth it.

    Thanks,
    Bryan

My '97 has the same wear problem on the left side of the driver's seat. I make a point of using a cleaner and conditioner on that area more frequently than the rest of the leather. I've had it 6 years now and the damage has not gotten any worse. I also take care not to slide across that area when I enter or exit.

The steering wheel isn't leather, but vinyl, at least on mine.

    Mike

I just bought a 93 850glt about a week ago. Being that I'm a 240 guy it was a HUGE leap! Anyway, down here in Florida, the sun has a tendency to fade interiors. Needless to say my new to me 850 needed some help. I used Maguire's leather care goopy stuff. It totally works for the leather. It goes on wet and tacky, but once it dries, it still looks wet and supple. Very nice product indeed. I totally recommend it!
