Battery V70 2002

Just wondering if there is a problem when replacing the battery on a 2002 v70.
Some post seem to indicate that if you disconnect the battery you will need to get a new software down load at the dealer or indy shop. I try to do most of my own work and just want to be forewarned. Thanks Ketchb

Isn't it just that the car will need to relearn your driving style to reestablish gear change patterns, you may need to reprogram seat memory, etc.? There may be upgrades to the software but these should be ideally installed to correct problems, and this would not depend on whether or not you have ever disconnected the battery.

Anyone has information to the contrary?

Don't you just love these modern cars! Eventhough you have a year or two left on your battery, you might want to consider plugging the + and - leads into a charger before taking the leads off the battery. Besides, this would also keep the radio functioning. Just make sure the key is in your pocket!
What a pain! Buying a 245 and replacing ALL of the running gear and interior would be cheaper than getting a new V70.

yes, you can disconnect the battery and then connect it back to the system; it will not affect radio either, radio is a node on the system

wrong answer Klaus; its 5678, and still counting
