relax boys. the car is a little beat up right now (couple of strut mounts shot, needs some brake work, some oil leaks, etc.) so if shes gonna blow itll happen at a good time. ive built up a little bit of a "repair debt." this belt went on in aug. of 04. ive disregarded almost every maintenance tip there is and its running amazingly well. ps. i just changed the air filter after only 60000km. man im improving.

There is no award for having the highest mileage on your belt, but you can always fashion a nice trophy from your fried engine ;)

Air pollutants can degenerate belts, tires, trim, etc. over time. Might be hastened by heat and sun.

160,000Km = 100,000 miles. When was it last changed, MM/YY? That has just as much to do with wear as miles. The colder temps probably help, too. I would not reccomend this to someone living in Florida, with high heat and humidity.
You know, of course, if the belt breaks no one on this board will have any sympathy!
