Ambient temp reading C70

I own a '01 C70 convertible with the onboard computer that measures several functions. One of these functions is to provide the outside temp reading. Recently, this function has been showing outside temp readings of at least 20-30 degrees higher than the actual temp.
I am assuming that there is a sensor mounted somewhere in the car that provides these readings and that this sensor is malfunctioning.
Does anyone have any ideas as to the location of this sensor and the possible solution for this other than the obvious which is to replace the temp reading sensor.
Thanks to all for their suggestions and responses. Fred.

Ambient temp reading C70

If similar to the S70 it is attached to the radiator stone shield

That's the plastic air-damn or gaurd below the radiator. It's on the pasenger side. Check to see if it's dislodged and gone up into the "hole" that it's in. If this happens, it's closer to the engine and will show hotter than normal.
