1999 XC with 74k,the car is garaged in a heated basement garage each night. Lately, there have been two mornings out of 5 where the car stalls immediately upon the cold start, but starts again without remark. any comments/suggestions/input???

Can also be the immobilizer (antenna ring or a defective key). Search for immobilizer here..

Consider it time for a throttle body cleaning and also time to clean the idle air control valve which may be sticking.
