Good Morning,

Well the advice I just received on the check engine light worked but unfortunately I've encountered another minor problem over the weekend. The right rear window has stopped working. No response to either the control on the drivers door or on the passenger door. I've checked fuses, but it appears if the fuse for the window is also linked to a couple of other parts and everything else is working.

Motor, perhaps? Hope not but would appreciate any help!

Those darn switches get dirty real fast. Try cleaning it before looking for a replacement. This is a pretty good site:

Before you spend a lot of money on replacing the switch, try some electronics contact cleaner. Radio Shack or auto parts carry this. I liked the stuff from Radio Shack better, but was more expensive. Spray a copious quantity of contact cleaner into both the door wiindow switch and the master switch, and exercise the switches. I have had to do this to my 850 a couple of times, but four years later, the windows are still working. The switches are the usual suspect for inop windows. Motor failure not common.

Probably the master switch (the one on the driver's door) is bad. I had similar problem in both my 99 V70 and 99 S70. Master switches can be found on the internet for at least a little less than at Volvo. I researching, I found someone with a used one, but they wanted almost as much as the cheaper of the new ones. Wouldn't trust a used one anyway.
