Check engine light S70 1999

Good Morning,

My wife filled up our '99 S70 yesterday, forgot to put the gas cap back on and drove about 25 miles before the check engine light came on.

I've heard it can be reset by disconnecting the battery for about 60 seconds. Is this appropriate? Is there a better way? Or do I have to pay my local dealer to do it?

Thanks
Wade

If the cap caused the CEL to go on, tightening it will cause it to go off after about 3 or 4 cycles of engine start, engine stop.

It should reset by itself after a few start-stop cycles.

I wouldn't do anything unless it's still on after a week.
