shocks for my trunk on 850t wagon 850 1995

My father loves his volvo's and I have a question so that I can save him some money at the repair shop.
The trunk deck lid no longer stays up on its own and I want to fix that problem. However they appear to be internal so I am not sure of how to access them.
Anyone who can field this question saves the day for my pops... he just bought this 1995 with so many options on it and only 5700 miles when he bought it.

I love these types of questions. Save a few bucks and order two struts from FCPGroton along with a bunch of oil filters and washers, a cabin filter and a holder for it.
